Our client, Margaret Byrne, was just nominated for an Emmy award as part of the editing team for the feature documentary, American Promise! Fourteen years in the making, the film received three Emmy nominations for Best Documentary, Outstanding Coverage of a Current News Story Long Form, and Outstanding Editing. For the past year, we have been working with Margaret and her production team designing the website and marketing collateral for her upcoming feature length documentary, Raising Bertie. According to the synopsis, the film follows "three young men over the course of five years as they grow into adulthood in Bertie County, a small African American-led farming community in North Carolina. Through the intimate portrayal of these young men, we see the issues facing America’s rural youth and the repercussions of a woefully underfunded rural public school system. Their stories shed light on the complex relationships between family, economics and education."
Raising Bertie is set to complete production in early 2016 and we can't wait for everyone to see it! Below is an early postcard design we created for the film:
